The first step to conventional repair is sanding down to metal and lifting the damage back into shape.
Other techniques of lifting damage requires holes to be made to lift damage into a shape that somewhat appears factory.
Body Filler is then added to make the panel flat again.
This is a good visual of the panel sanded and body filler being added. This process is quite invasive as you can see.
After the body filler is added it is sanded down to get a shape as close to factory as possible.
